Adrian McCormack
Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.
Industrial Designer and SolidWorks Specialist with over 12 years of experience delivering mechanical design, reverse engineering and manufacturing solutions across commercial manufacturing, industrial engineering and higher education.
Throughout my career I have developed expertise in SolidWorks, CAD automation, reverse engineering, additive manufacturing and design for manufacture. My work has included the design and development of industrial radiators and marine heat exchangers, creation of company-wide CAD standards and parametric design libraries, reverse engineering of complex components using 3D scanning technologies, and supporting engineering teams to deliver practical, manufacturable solutions.
In addition to my commercial experience, I lectured in Industrial Design and Engineering at Griffith University for seven years, where I developed and delivered over 120 CAD training videos, taught advanced SolidWorks, design for manufacture, surfacing, sheet metal, weldments and additive manufacturing, and mentored hundreds of engineering and design students. This experience has strengthened my communication skills and my ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining high technical standards.
I enjoy solving complex engineering problems and continuously improving design processes. My experience developing CAD standards, automating repetitive workflows and mentoring other designers has allowed teams to work more efficiently while producing consistent, high-quality engineering documentation.
In addition to my design and engineering experience, I have a strong interest in CAD education and helping others develop their SOLIDWORKS skills. My teaching experience ranges from fundamental CAD principles through to advanced modelling techniques, with a focus on practical workflows and efficient modelling practices.
If you or your business would like to discuss SOLIDWORKS training or skills development, please feel free to get in touch.
